The Internship
Traveling deep into the jungles of Paraguay to live with a small community of people is an anthropologists dream, and it became my dream as I landed the chance of a lifetime to work with a group of students for Guayakí Yerba Mate. The six of us prepped, along with our teacher Chris Morissette, for months, getting gear lists and tickets locked in. I never knew what a life changing experience it would turn out to be. There were definite highs and a few lows, with the days emotions rolling through each individual at breakneck speeds. We were excited, we were overwhelmed, we were immersed as a team we worked to understand the world around us. This is a document of my experiences. Enjoy.
